Oh how I love art! Nothing adds color, personality and life to an empty space or wall quite like it. Unfortunately, it can be quite expensive to acquire. What I have learned is that you can quickly create a thrifty substitute for pricy art by simply applying a picture frame to your favorite black and white print, fabric sample or collage of clippings. Almost anything can be framed in a deliberately selected frame and transformed into a beautiful piece of art.
For example, take 5 pieces of “kid art” from your fridge and frame them in clean, black, over-sized gallery frames. Line them down a hallway at an even height, and you have transformed them into gallery pieces. I’m not sure how or why, but this really works! Play around with different styles, shapes, sizes & fillers and see what you can come up with. Here are a few of our favorites…
